Karen Pollett, 63,

of Mohave Valley AZ, a former long-time Streator resident passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at TMC Peppi's House Hospice, Tucson AZ surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers are her grandsons Ryne and Nicklaus Redd. Honorary Pallbearers are the "girls from the class of '68" (you know who you are). Cremation rites have been accorded.
Born in Streator March 2, 1950 to George and Dolores (Farkas) Bresney. Karen attended St Stephens School and Streator High School class of 1968. She married Ron Pollett on May 17, 1970. They had just celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary. He survives in Arizona.
She is also survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Don) Redd of Corona de Tucson, AZ.; grandsons Ryne (15) and Nicklaus (9) of Corona de Tucson, AZ, sisters Linda Ebner of Utica, Susan Angelico of Streator, and Janice McCoy in Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father in law, Richard and Ruth Pollett; and infant daughters Katy Ilene, Shannon Leigh and Carrie Lynn.
She worked at Thatcher Glass in the office for many years and retired from Flink Co in 2003 where she was in accounting/payroll and inventory control manager.
Karen loved being "Gramma K" more than anything. Ryne and Nicklaus were the light of her life. That being said, in lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the family for the education funds for her grandsons.
